Veteran’s Day Assembly
Staff & Student Event

Thursday, November 9, 2017
8:45 am in the Lowell Gym

Let’s come together for a few minutes to recognize all who fight and protect us.

The week’s language of the week will be French.
Good Morning  translates to “Bon jour!”

NOVEMBER 7TH
Baked goods can be dropped off the morning of 11/7 beginning at 7:30 am in the Lowell Gym or can be dropped off at Monica Timperio's home the evening before (please email us at lowellelementarypto@gmail.com if you prefer to do this and we will provide her address).
Any baked good would be a wonderful contribution to the bake sale.

Parking and Driving Concerns around Lowell School during the afternoon pick-up from Extended Day

Parents, families, and friends picking up students from Extended day PLEASE DO NOT  park in the handicap parking (without having a placard or plates), do not park in the school’s fire lane, and please slow down when you drive on Lowell Street in front of the school. We have many students who live in the neighborhood and who play around the school after hours. Please do everything you can do to ensure their safety.

The Lowell Learning Garden is looking for volunteers to help in the garden this coming Sunday, November 12th, from 1-4pm.  These work days are fun, community-building events that allow parents/guardians and children the opportunity to support this wonderful outdoor classroom at our school.  Sunday will likely involve updating the flower garden areas, general end-of-season garden clean up, and possibly preparing an area for a raspberry bed.  Judy Fallows, the Watertown district garden coordinator, will guide us in this work.  You can sign up to help here:

Please reach out to Kathleen McGah, kmcgah@hotmail.com, if you would like to learn more!

Greetings,
MCAS test results were mailed out at the end of last week. You should expect to see your child’s individual test results by Tuesday of this week. MCAS results by school and district will be shared at December’s School Council Meeting. All are welcome to attend. The Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 7th at 7:00 pm.
This week there is no school on Tuesday, November 7th due to teacher’s professional development and on Friday, November 10th for the Veteran’s Day holiday.
We continue to work on making improvements to our lunch periods. Lot’s of progress was made last week. The support of our teachers and parents is essential. Thank you for your support.
I would personally like to thank Mr. Robert’s who works everyday in the cafeteria supporting our children with love and care. His kindness and dedication is appreciated by all. Thank you!
